Looks like the bodyshop is going to recommend a total loss to the insurers after a prang on Tuesday night frown The initial visual estimate is £3700 which is a shock looking at the damage even with no airbag deployment etc.

Absolutely gutted as the car was totally mint inside and out apart from a few scuffs on the wheels and always gave me a big grin when driving it.

I think the labour costs would have been bad. The front frame seemed to be pushed down onto the front wheel so I think this would cost a lot to put right.

Got to find another car now...

As your fairly local to me in Reading, would you mind finding out the buyback price from your insurer please? I have enough parts lying around in the shed to get that back on the road in no time.

I'll try but the subframe looks bent from looking at it. The frame was rubbing the tyre when I moved the car.

That won't be an issue. It's an easy fix with paint being the most expensive issue if you can't find the parts in the right colour.

Hi Dave, unfortunately it has already gone to the scrapyard frown The OH spoke to the engineer and agreed the £3k they offered as they rang when I was at work. Sorry.
