I`m sure a 1.4 has solid discs, its just the pads to decide? Bosch or Bendix.Just make sure the silly little clips are fitted correctly?
I can not believe that quote!or am I out of touch. You can get top quality O/E pads & discs from Euro or GSF for less than £100,as said a very simple DIY job.

That Kwik Fit quote of £390 got me!!! that is total extortion!! A firm with their buying power would pay less than £50 for those discs and pads, and as for "Kwikfit fitters",well ??.
My old workshop would happily fit top quality O/E parts for £150 inc VAT with the job done by an experienced technician, and I would be more than happy with the profit.
You see all sorts in this business. Some expect small independents to work for peanuts while others go blindly into major outlets or main dealers and pay stupid money.I`m glad I`m retired and out of it.
