Clio 197 Locking Wheels Bolts
Discussion
Need some help guys - the person who fitted these last time has used an air gun and done them too tight and buggered up the thread - so it has been a nightmare to remove them.
I bought a replacement set of genuine Renault ones off eBay (and despite the seller claiming they would fit - they were too small!).
Can someone point me in the direction where I can get a set from please?

Just go to a dealer?
Not sure why I'd pay £35 + petrol when you can get them off eBay for a tenner I did go on the Renault site but again - they don't make it clear which set are specifically for the 197

It was more that they'd take your number plate and be able to either sell you a set and POST them to you or give you the part number at least.I did go on the Renault site but again - they don't make it clear which set are specifically for the 197
Rang up dealer yesterday morning.
Guy didn't know which I needed so told me he would ring Renault HQ and phone me back - as of yet nothing. (Shock horror!)
So I guess I can only ask again...
Does anyone know the measurements for Clio locking wheel bolts (or if you can link me to some that will be even better - genuine or good quality third party...not fussed)!

IIRC, all Clios of that age have the same locking wheelnuts. Drive to your local dealer, the parts guy will probably doublecheck your car, hand you a new set, and relieve you of some dough. If the guy you originally spoke to is useless, just call 'em again and speak to the parts manager.
The 197 (and 200) has an M14x1.5 thread which is bigger than other clio's
If you do a search for that thread you'll find cheap ones on ebay, VW and some BMW's have same thread, be carefull though, porsche has same thread but has a radius seat (and some VW) on the nuts, you want a 60 degree taper type.
HTH.
