Renault Clio 197 Insurance

Hello PHers,

I've fallen in love with an ultra red clio 197 but the lowest insurance quotes are coming out at around £1,000. I appreciate that my age does increase the price (I'm 21) but I've been a named driver on another insurance policy for 4 years with no claims in that time. Does any one know any companies that could offer me a lower price than that? My lowest quote, using confused.com, was from admiral with elephant following closely behind.

You will not get cheaper than that.

Yeah... that's a very good price. I'm 28 with 8 years NCB paying £390 on my Clio 182. That's with Aviva, were the best for a standard car!

I just did a quote saying I was 21 (I'm 20) with 3yrs ncb and if you paid up front it was £755 with admiral or paying monthly the cheapest was Sainsbury's and Churchill at £970 and £960.

Thanks for the responses - I haven't got any NCB as this is the first car I'll own. I'll do quotes for all of the companies suggested but the chances are I'll just get the car (it's a mint FF '07 197, cup chasis and 24k) I can't wait!

I found a 197 was more to insure than my 200.

Strange really, but I had a quote for £980 for the 197, and my 200 is £680.

I'm 21 years of age.

Have a look at the Admiral 10 month policy. You get a full year's ncb at the end but the policy is cheaper than a 12 month one. I'm 23 and pay £550 with 4 years ncb.

I think a bag is pretty reasonable at 21...

I pay 480 at 29 with my lass who's 25.
