I've had my RS.200 for over 2 years, done 18000 miles in it (700 in the past 4 days) yet have only seen five or six others on the road and mabey the same 197's in that time. The thread " how many owners " shows there are some others but how rare are these cars ? Where are they all ? Does anyone lnow how many have been sold by Renault ?

I drive mine pretty much everyday and have seen a good 30+ others driving about in the year and a half I've had mine but they are actually pretty uncommon cars compared to others makes and models.

I think on how many left the total of the 197 and 200s on the road at the moment is just short of 5000. Majority of those are 197s.

I live in North Kent and just don't see many. I'm quite pleased in a way but surprised there aren't more seeing as its won virtually every test its entered and had such praise from its inception.

Theres quite a few driving around Kent. Thats where I've seen the majority of others before I moved away.
Theres a good specialist there too. When I lived in Kent I'd regularly see a LY 197 local to me and a white 200 the next town over opposite a renault dealership.

Ren7Oaks. You can probably guess from the name where they are located (Sevenoaks) they did my 5 year service (cam & aux belts, pulleys, water pump and the usual) and the car has been a dream.
They also gave it the once over.

I've not seen many, but I've seen more 197s than I have 200s.

Strangely, lately a nice R.S.200 has started parking outside my flat. Looks really nice.

I've had the same thing with Megane's though. I hardly spot any. I saw one on the weekend, and that's the first I've seen in a few weeks. When I first bought my 250, it was a whole year before I saw another!

Renault only release sale stats when production has ended and the new models out I think.

They are a rare car to see though still despite the popularity, a lot own them as 2nd cars as well. Mine is driven almost daily but it doesn't go that far, done about 3k miles since march.

Certainly up in the Aberdeen area 197's / 200's are pretty rare, whereas there are plenty of 172's / 182's. I've seen about 3 Clio V6's in the area too

Can't remember the last time I saw a V6 on the road. I will reply to this thread when I next see a 200

According to Howmanyleft.co.uk there are only 3200 197's registered on the roads this year along with 1700 200's which individually is less than the amount of Aston Martin V8 Vantage's on the road!

In answer to your question I have seen about 3 of each in the last year, ignoring clubs/meets.

not as rare as the LUX, supposedly only 27 of them on the road.

I see more C63 AMG's than Clio R.S's (not only 197 and 200),never seen a 197/200 on the road, only a 172 once which is local, today just saw 2 C63 AMG's which ive seen before, not only these that are local but must have seen about 10-15 in total during the last 2 years.

And comparing it to other hot hatches i've seen loads of Abarth 500 which are countless here also Fiesta st's and Polo Gti's.

197/200 are often not owned by normal people though, usually petrolheads, hence here you understand the new Clio 200 wanting to be more popular, older Clio Rs's unfortunately are owned mostly by chavs.

I own an R.S 200

It's driven daily by me, infact, a whole 11,000 miles since May.

I don't see many others around, which I like. Keeps people's heads turning when they see mine

I have an RS200 which I keep in France, nr Saint Tropez, and I've only seen a couple of others there. And, despite all the exotica, it turns a lot of heads and creates quite a bit of interest. More importantly, it drives superbly on the roads down there - I promise you, nothing would be more fun.
