Was there ever a 230 F1? I had a 225 F1. Very reliable but a bit dull tbh.

Yes, officially speaking, the R26 is the " Renaultsport 230 F1 Team R26", which came after your 225 F1 (the Ultra Blue ones with the yellow/blue decals)

It is the best to go for, with the standard GKN limitied slip differential, cup suspension etc. Loved mine (and my R26.R).

Prices seem to be around £8k for a 30,000mile+ example

Depends on what you define as "better", the 250 is just a slightly more modern incarnation.

The 250 will have a nicer more modern interior, slightly more power & torque, fractionally more weight. I havent driven a 250 but would expect them to be similar in feel. It depends if you would rather pay approx twice as much for the improvements.

The R26 had relatively few options when new so most of the cars are basically the same spec - the only real differences are for zenon lights and the lux pack which basically gave full leather seats. The 250 has more options of which the main one is the cup chassis. There is a more spartan car that had the cup chassis as standard or the more luxurious version (more toys etc) on which the cup chassis was an option.

Have a look over the owners forum at meganesport.net for more!

Great cars. Really enjoyed mine and regret selling it.

The cambelt is a big expense on these so get one that's had it done already.

It is stunning, worth spending the money on if you want a car to keep in the garage but not a driving car!!

Maybe therein lies the problem as I'd want to track it.

The 250 is a progression from the 230, so it won't be quite as "good". Mine was epic on track though.

I bought the OP's previous car. He seemed like a decent guy and has had a lot of different cars.

Surely the best thing would be to go for a drive in the cars and make up your own mind?

What would you use the car for?

Yup a test drive is something I must do and I've had the 250 cup round spa so I wonder how much better it is than the r26
It'll be for hooning about, ferrying kids occasionally and track days

Recaros are always optional.

Cup chassis can be optioned on the normal RS, it is standard on the cup.

You can get a 250 with Cup Chassis and Recaros. Our old demo had Xenons and 19's too, along with the RS monitor option. It was a stunning and vey capable car!
