Hello all, this is my first venture into this section! smile

Today I became the proud owner of a 2000MY 306 Cabrio 2.0. Its a lovely little thing and was a complete bargain, and I can't wait to actually insure it and go out for a run!

My immediate concern however is that of the hood. Its coming up to summer, and I would love to get the top down on some days out. The seller however has informed me that whilst the hood is okay at the moment, there have been previous issues with it getting stuck and costing a fortune to sort out, and looking through the net, this seems to be a regular occurrence. Now, I'm a lowly student and really do not have the money to spend a grand on fixing the roof if it breaks, and don't want to end up with it stuck down and filling the leather seats with the inevitable rain of the British summer.

I'm happy to use it as a coupe for now, but ultimately, is there any way I could perhaps make the roof manual? This car will never be resold, so I do not mind ruining any potential value. I'd just like the option to utilise the fabric occasionally! (Without the constant panic of it getting stuck down).

Thanks in advance for any help smile

They are lovely cars WHEN!! the roof is working correctly and it can be very expensive to get it that way. There are hydraulic pipes all over the place and they can get "holed",also you need a Diag 2000 to re-program it all. There is a manual way by attaching a tool to the socket on the motor in the boot, but this is only designed for emergency`s and not to go through the full open and close cycle. You need to talk to a small Peugeot Specialist who has done these before, you never know it could be a simple fault?Lets face it the whole point of having a cabriolet is driving with the roof down. Have word with my mate Mike on 01189590042.He and I have worked on many of these roofs (I`m retired now)and he has all the equipment.

If the hood is working fine now I wouldn't worry too much about it, the most important thing is to make sure you complete the proccess of putting the hood up and down once you have begun and not allowing the doors to be opened whilst you're doing this.

Our one went back and forth to the local Peugeot dealer a few times with problems. Once even with the roof half opened!

Was all fixed under warranty
