Sounds like I have a dodgy wheel bearing at the back so going to change the rear discs tonight in the hope it goes away. Apart from removing the 30mm nut in the middle is there anything else I should worry about above and beyond changing a normal disc? Changed plenty of discs and pads before of froggy cars but never one with the wheel bearing held in the disc before. The parts I have bought already have the bearing pressed in (apparently - I haven't actually collected them yet!)

No, nothing unusual to worry about with them, you've got the right idea wink

Well successfully changed with just a metal splinter to show for it frown But the noise has gone!!

Only thing that was difficult for anybody attempting this in the future was swapping the ABS rings over. I would strongly recommend buying discs with these fitted already! In my case they didn't want to come off and then didn't want to go on the new disc until they were cooked on a gas hob for about five minutes - slip straight on then biggrin

Cheeky little bump here.

Exactly the same position as you, need to change the rear discs. I'm buying discs and pads from Renault with bearings and ABS rings already in place, do the old bearings need pressing out or are they held in with a bolt?
Any thing else worth mentioning that's different to normal rear disc changes?

Would normally just take it to bits and have a look but I only have 2 hours to do it and I don't want to get stranded on the driveway hehe

I pulled the old disc off and the bearing came off in piece and threw the whole thing in the bin then replaced. One side came straight off, the other needed a light beating with a rubber mallet. There are little washer things behind the discs that stayed on the axle when I pulled the disc off so it didn't matter but apparently they go a certain way round and MUST be refitted as you don't seem to get new ones with the discs.

Hub nut needs to be done up to 175nm as well. I popped the wheel centres off and slackened them through the wheels with the car on the ground before lifting to make life easier.
