I have my 5 year service coming including the pricey cam belt change - anyone have any recommendations in the above area or within an hours drive?

Cheers

I never let anyone other than Ware Gares touch mine - excellent service and very knowledgeable garage. Picked mine up from a service + mot just last saturday.

A very helpful service manager called Andy is the chap to book in with and I always insist Tom (he drives an R26 also) is the mechanic that does the work.

Oh, and last time i got a 197Cup as a courtesy car, which was nice.

If you don't mind a trip up the A1 into Beds. http://www.519automotive.co.uk/ come highly recommended. Run by a Danny (SidewaysDan on cliosport, meganesport & other such places) he comes highly recommended by me. Last year he replaced the suspension on my ph1 225 with R26 components, replaced the front disks & pads, fitted braided hoses and changed the gearbox oil. Definitely knows his way around a Renault smile

You're in Mark Fish territory there. He serviced my R26 when I had it and I'd take my 182 to him if it was nearer.

Thanks to the 3 of you.

I was already aware of Mark Fish and I am awaiting his quote and then I will call Ware Garage and Renault Enfield to see what they say.

Sounds like a big bill whoever does the work!

I called them 9-30 am and couldn't get through to service dept so a message was taken with a promise of a call-back - needless to say that didn't happen.

Its not a surprise so many Renault dealers loose work when they can't be arsed to follow-up on a grands worth of work.

Is it worth loosing my Renault full history?

At present Renault Enfield have beaten his quote so interested to know what you think!

To an enthusiast, I'd say a mark fish sh was better than a Renault one.

I'd use mark fish, as said to an enthusiast it'll be a better history than a renault one.

Mark Fish does indeed come very highly recommended.

Never used him myself because i've always had 1st class treatment from ware garages, but that's not to say I wouldnt in the future if they forget how valuable my custom is.
