172 Cup steering rack removal and PAS?

I have to learn to leave the track car alone I know, I read the other day that the 1.2 16v (dci also) steering rack that's electrically powered will fit the Cup, in the interest of weight saving and releasing more power I went and bought a rack and an 850mm 5 rib belt. My plan is ofcourse to remove the PAS pump, all the hosing and swap the rack out.
Has anyone done this and can let me know how hard it is, or how much a garage would charge me to do the work? Any tips on the job would help. I was thinking of wiring the rack up to a switch on the dash, good idea?
