I have purchased a Citroen C1 some months ago and although the car is a great little run around it seems to be suffering from what I have come to discover is an inherent problem.

I have seen one or two ‘fixes’ involving silica gel and moving doors but wondered if you have solved the problem. Any ideas?

If its less than 3 years old, i'd go back and request a new door seal under warranty.

If older than 3 years, buy a few metres of door seal from "Woolies"

Considering the volume of C1, 107 & Aygo sold, this is the first ive heard of it & i work in the trade

I can tell you from experience that the leaking 107's, Aygos and C1's are a very real and common issue!

I had the Aygo. My leak was a small one, but irritating nonetheless.

It was cured under warranty by the replacement of all door seals, boot seal and the addition of two "stick on" seals that ran along the tops of the doors.

There are a few theories kicking around (again I can only speak from an Aygo point of view) but I believe that there are two main ways the water gets in. One is through the rear lights, but the main one is the main door seal which seems to deform over time (or if the seal gets trapped or pinched by the door for a period of time)

The main door seal is quite "puffy" *snigger* and once it loses its "puffiness" *snigger* the water seems to take the path of least resistance and then tracks accross the bottom sill and into the footwell.

I've heard many, many C1, 107 owners complain of similar issues.

That's what happens. I can see the water line leading into the car.

Some threads mention 'silicon gel' (the rubber friendly version) but dont mention where or how to administer it!

Silicone gel (or spray) can be put onto the existing seals. This has two purposes. It keeps them supple and therefore less likely to deform, and also helps repel beads of water.

Toyota's answer was to retro fit an extra seal along the top of the doorline (see pic)

It's very common for 107's to take water in through the aerial on the roof.
