Does anyone have experience of running one?

I would imagine its mid 20s mpg, but also in terms of servicing? Is it just the same as a standard RS car? Insurance group?

Also do they have the Sachs dampers that cost about £1500 to replace?

Hello matt

I have run my megane r26r for just over 2 years now and previously had a megane r26 for 2 years.

I use a specialist for my servicing needs and the rates are very reasonable for servicing.

Mpg wise I get 35-40 on a motorway cruise and around 30 round town although that's driving quite slowly smile I get around 360 miles out of a tank.

They aren't sach's dampers on the megane.

I had a R26 and found servicing to be very reasonable.

Fuel wise i was getting nowhere near what Nimburs has said, I use to average around 23mpg but it did have a relatively hard time. (the car was running a rs map and power around 250hp so this probably had something to do with it)

Something else which is quite an expensive cost is the tyres, I used the standard michelin pilot sports which cost in the region of £180 a corner, this was a couple of years ago now so i don't know if they've gone up or gone down since then.

Never had any problems or really read about any common problems when i was on meganesport,

I loved my R26 and would love a R, go for it i say!!

Cheers for the advice guys. Think this will definately be the next purchase, just finding an unmolestered on.

Tyre prices I am used to, the 18s on my M-Sport E46 are around £200-£220 a corner for pilots.
