106 wiring woes...engine wont start
Discussion
evening all
i picked up a little 106 1.1 today, as it cost me less than 100 of the queens finest, and i plan to tidy it up and sell on
anyway....
the ignition barrel has been removed, for what reason i do not know, theres the original barrel, and a new barrel, both with keys, and the original key has the chip in for the transponder.
i can connect a barrel to the wiring and put the original key in the hole where the barrel was so the transponder can get the key, and turn it over with a screwdriver. thats that sorted,
now, the engine swings over fine, but theres no spark going to the plugs,
tested the connector for the coil and there isnt voltage going through 3 of the 4 pins.
checked all fuses, fine
double relay under the ecu is working fine, but the relay with the round connector, that goes into the same loom has a white wire coming out the connector, all the other wires have power, apart from this white one, we sent 12v through it, and still no spark
am i right in thinking that whatever this white wire goes too is broken, or the wire itself has broken?
does anybody know where it goes, or have wiring diagrams?
btw, all connectors for looms are clean!

hmm, i always though the immob worked on the coilpack, the relay under the ecu is for the fuel pump which I've heard prime on a car with an immobiliser fault, albeit it was a gti conversion that supposedly had an unlocked ecu that wasn't.
I'll see if i can dig out my old haynes tomorrow, what engine is it? 1.1 mpi?
What makes you think it has registered the key, how do you tell?

i dont know then, this is just from what ive read from various sources on google! theres two relays under the ECU, and the double one works, but im not sure about the other one.I'll see if i can dig out my old haynes tomorrow, what engine is it? 1.1 mpi?

its a 1.1 single point injection, im going to head down there in a bit and see if i can work it out!
is there a way of reconnecting the key without specialist equipment?
