Citroen C5. Opinions needed.

As above really. I've done a search which brought up zero results so anyone on here got one or driven one?
Thinking about replacing the Focus some time next year and I miss having an estate and chanced upon the C5 (2008 onwards shape) which looks pretty decent and seems good value at around 2-3 years old.
Looking probably for the petrol version as I don't do the milage to warrant a diesel and will no doubt have DPF issues due to the lack of milage.
What are they like to drive? Are they generally reliable and are they as comfortable as everyone says?

I have had 5, they are superb cars
Ive driven 100k in the 5 C5's (all new shape) all hard miles and nothing has broken at all.
1.6HDi or 2.0Hdi are the ones to go for rather than the petrol. The petrol is really slow and apointless compared to the Diesels. Citroen make the best Diesels available and wont be much more expensive.
VTR has springs, Exclusive has Hydractive floating suspension. I had mainly exclusives, but for around town i would recommend VTR+Nav spec. as its less boat-like around town.
The build quality and comfort levels are the highest this side of a lexus. It will feel 300% better than a focus in any trim.
Some good cheap cars around too, look to pay 7.5-10k depending on mileage.

I just sold my C5 2.0Hdi Exclusive after 2.5 years and 18000 miles driven. I enjoyed every minute of it. It was quiet, comfortable, economical, well specced and I loved the looks. The cabin has a quality feel and nothing rattled or squeaked. It was reliable too. Nothing went wrong. At all.
Slightly uninvolving to drive fast though it cornered well but if ride comfort and refinement is your thing then you can't go wrong with one.
Replaced it with a 3.0Hdi and its a peach. Am looking forward to more of the same (though probably not the economy).

Even the german press regards the C5 as a well kept secret for used motoring. It seems as if Citroen really put a lot of effort into this model. Definately go for a diesel in exclusive trim, the hydropneumatik suspension is the stuff of dreams, and most of them have double glazed windows and massage seats. Some will even have leather wrapped dashboards and panorama roof. Massively more desirable than most any competitiors this side of the 5-er and e-klasse.
