Hi, I am looking at a petrol 5008 as a possible replacement for my wifes car. As we plan to keep her next car for 5 years or longer I would like to know if there are any known issues or potential issues with the 5008 and/or the 1.6 turbo engine? Hope someone here can help or point me in the right direction.

Regards

Andy

I'm a Peugeot Sales Exec and the only thing we ever get with the diesel is that sometimes the injectors need "re-learning." Other than that they're quite nice functional cars. I'd go for the 2.0 HDi though, not that much difference in economy and a lot more power.

I wouldn't touch anything with the 1.6 Turbo.

I bought a Citroen DS3 Racing brand new in May, it's spent more time at the dealers than outside my house, now been told it needs a new engine and that won't be here and fitted until January so I'm officially handing it back and rejecting it tomorrow.

There are around 3 or 4 other Citroen Racing owners waiting for new engines too.

Do a google for 1.6 thp problems, plenty of info and it affects Citroen, Peugeot and Mini.

Yeah, tbh I didn't even think of it being the petrol. We just don't sell vehicles like that with petrol in the uk. The diesels are definitely better.
