hi all, i have a 106 here that im struggling with to get running... i have changed the eninge to a 1.4 quicksilver from a 1.1. i have a ECU and engine loom out of a vtr( was told that it will have no affect). the car turns over on the second turn of the key(igniction lights) and not the 3rd. i have the ECU unlocked, im just wondering if anybody can help me? any info would be most greatful, thanks mark

I'm not too knowledgeable on pugs but from previous experience of engine conversions in clios I'd be thinking along the lines of the wiring loom being at fault.
Have you got fuel or spark?

On the clio 16v's I know that the wiring loom used in the engine conversion needs to be from the same year as the car it's going into for it to work, the main problem being if the incorrect loom is used the fuel pump wont work

Take the ignition feed off the starter motor ,see if its permanently live. If so you could see if it starts with a temporary feed directly from the battery so you can turn the ignition on without the engine turning over.
