clio 172 cup shuddering

had new front discs and pads last year.... now when i brake hard at speed the car shudders. doesnt do it around town,,only when i,m givin it some welly. apart from slowing down a bit, any ideas?????

Warped discs?
My old car(MG) had this issue- fine for about 6 months then started juddering at high speed under heavy braking. Caused by cheap discs.

How many miles on the current discs and pads? You say last year so they may have nothing to do with the problem.

Try cleaning the discs up a bit with some 40 grit emery cloth.It's surprising how many judders are from pads sticking to the disc whilst parked up for a while.

only 6000 miles. its a similar shudder to the 1 i had before the front discs and pads were changed last year..

The discs and pads should not be worn enough in 6000 miles to cause a problem unless...

A - The pads are cheap crap
B - The discs are warped
C - As above, the car spends time sitting about corroding

Juddering could be loads of things. Does it happen only when braking, under load, cornering, with the clutch in/out?
