I like the look of these and was wondering what they are like to drive and do they do a hot one (whats the highest standard bhp) i've seen the diesels are 165hp and i don't fancy that at all.
Really nice looking car from the side, while i'm on here MODS shout why is there no crz section in the classifieds it took me ages to find them in other peugeots, thanks in advancebiggrin

Do you mean the RCZ ?

They do a 200Hp 1.6THP. The car has been out about a year but not heavily publicised. I dont think you will find many used examples, mainly ex demo's i guess

I dont know how but at Robins & Day Stockwell they have an RCZ on a stand with £149 a month emblazoned down the side.

I haven't had a chance to check it out yet but I want one.

I drove the petrol and the diesel up Goodwood hill last year when they first came out. Felt to me like all modern mildly quick cars - turbo spools up quickly, then it runs out of puff, especially the diesel.

A surplus of grip over handling. Understeer bias kept in check by power-killing traction control.

If you like the way modern FWD 200bhp-ish cars go, you'll like the RCZ. Personally I wouldn't buy one unless it was RWD and convertible, but that's just me.

I disagree. The diesel engine behaves very little like a diesel in terms of the way it delivers its power. You get the low down torque as you would expect, but they have no problem pulling with impressive linearity all the way to the redline. Much more eager to rev than most diesels. In terms of drive, its all a little bit too similar to a 308 for my liking. That's not necessarily a bad thing as such, but the looks leave you expecting a lot more. The gearbox is a lot more snickety (particularly if you opt for the Sport pack which gives you a shorter gear stick and smaller steering wheel), but the steering and general behaviour of the car is very familiar after driving 308s.

On the basis that you can't class an RCZ as a "proper" sports car, and more as a classy looking coupe, the diesel is probably the best engine to go for. That said, the petrols are impressive units in their own right, if the OP is hellbent on avoiding a diesel.

There seems to be a GT, there are some in the classifieds with 230 bhp and twin exhausts (one each side) I was passed by one of these and it sounded really good. Exhausts are dealer fit on the robins and day ad's
