Peugeot 106 problems

Just bought a Peugeot 106 Independence to sell on, owner suspected it needed a gearbox, on examination it needed a pin putting in the bit that holds the linkage on to the forks in box. So I saved a bit of a big job and £50 for a replacement box. It now works okay but little hard to get 5th gear, you have to move the gearstick to the left before selecting 5th, is this an easy fix?

Also funny idle, once fan kicks in it idles fine. Lambda sensor?

Not as fun as the rest of my fleet I know but should get me some pennies to pay for the FSO
