bloke i work with has a 1.4 modus petrol and wants to do an oil change but can't locate the filter on the engine. i've wanderd round google but can't see anything definitive. can anyone here advise where it's located please?

Should've posted in the Renault forum, but has he actually jacked it up and looked under the car. I'd have thought it'd be pretty obvious...

if he's that clueless, it's probably best to get a halfords autocentre/chemix type place to do it for him. they are a long way from perfect, but will get the job done quickly and relatively cheaply.

Just make sure he goes in aware that they will try and upsell the life out of him and he is not to spend any more money than he was planning getting his tracking/tyres/brake pads etc attended to

He knows how to work on cars, it's his wife's tho and they've never lifted the bonnet on it themselves before.

Its right at the front of the engine, fairly central just below the inlet manifold to the right of the alternator. If you can find anywhere more awkward then I`ll buy you a pint, they`re a real barsteward.
