I am looking at a DS4 for my daily tin-top. It would be a company car, so not strictly my money, just my tax !

DS4 Dsport spec with either THP200 or 160Hdi

What do you think ?

Saw one on the motorway the other week and it looked rather nice. All of the current Citroen range are rather good looking though.

If it's on a full maintenance package then I can't see there is much to lose? How does it work out tax wise? What's the CO2?

If the THP200 is anything like the 1.6 THP 207BHP in my DS3 Racing it should be a great balance of power and economy.

I can get up to 56 MPG from mine and my daily average is 44MPG and it's about £130 a year to tax as the emissions are pretty low.

The DS4 does look nice, I think the DS5 that's due towards the end of the year looks much better, they mention a hybrid system too so emissions and economy should be good, great from a company car tax perspective!

CO2 is 134 for the 2.0HDi 160Hp
CO2 is 149 for the THP200

So not too bad really

I am liking the pearlescent white or Hickory Brown

There was a time when I'd have laughed if someone told me I'd like a brown car... It's really does suit it though.

Applied for the 24 hour test in a DS4 so will see what it's like. The DS5 looks lovely inside, need to see the exterior in person though.

I'll have one over the weekend of the 10th/11th, looking forward to it. It's the Dsport 1.6 petrol.

I agree about the Hickory brown, looks great.

I also think the interior of the DS5 looks fantastic, the centre and roof consoles look ace, but as said, I'd need to have a look at one in the flesh first.

I was going to say it really does look like Citroen are finally getting it together and making some fab cars but unfortunately my DS3 Racing has an engine fault that's proving difficult for them to fix, hopefully they'll sort it and that will be the end of it!

What has gone wrong with it? Is it the same 1.6 turbo that the Mini uses?

The very same, closest model is the JCW.

It is very hesitant, dislikes pulling away under load in the cold and occasionally when you pull away gently from say, 70mph it looses all power for a couple of secs.

Not aware of any other DS3R owners having issues though, just mine!

Crank sensor is being fingered at present and awaiting feedback from the techincal bods at Citroen. Apart from hat I can't fault it, it's a truly fantastic car to drive.

Hi Stef.
You may want to ring your supplying dealer. I heard today that there is a recall for this issue.
The early cars were fine, some have developed the hesitation and some burn fuel/oil irregularly. Apparently its an easy fix for the dealer to resolve for you.

I've looked at the DS4 but not driven it. Some of the reviews are not that great.

Can you name many coupe's that do have rear windows that come down ?

In reality, the angle of the rear doors doesnt allow enough room to lower a window.
Why is that an issue tho ? I lock out my rear windows now anyway, dont want my daughtre playing with the button.

95% of the time i'll be driving it on my own with air con running.
Its really the performance im keen to gain opinion on, should i look at 160 diesel or 200 petrol ?

It's not a coupe (well it sort of is but isn't). Yes 90-95% of the time the windows will be closed but it is strange to have 2 back doors that open with windows that can't go down. I suggest you drive both and decide which you want, depends on what you like, your driving style, annual mileage and the uses you have for it. If you do lots of short trips will it have DPF issues?

It's not a coupe in any respect! It's a 4 door hatchback ffs.

The rear window issue doesn't bother me tbh. If anything, the only concern (highlighted in the autocar reader test video) is the access to the rear seats.

I agree chaps, my Jag IS a coupe ! the DS4......nah

But the rear windows are a minor issue for me. More cncerning is the size of the rear doors to get my daughter in & out every day.

Come on 5678 I want to know your weekend views

I'm poised over the "order" button

Ive just read the AUTOCAR Review - what a bunch of idiots. Now I know why I dont read autocar or "what car". You give them a top of the range 200Hp car and they dont review or mention the engine or how it drives. I would suggest they just looked at one in a showroom !!!!

It's outside on my drive now! Black Dsport 200hp with the brown leather and sat nav, certainly looks the part. £26k though... not sure!

Initial thoughts, not too bad. The salesman tried to warn me "now, it's very quick Sir"... I think that's relative! It's no slouch though. Interior is good, I'm coming from a well specced 650i though so am trying to keep things in perspective (Wife was shocked at using manual seat adjustments again hehe) Boot is a good size, rear access doesn't look great though. Need to see what it's like putting the baby seat in the back. Satnav is a bit of a faff but still easily usable. Too many steering wheel buttons for me though.

Heading off out with the family now so will post up more later. Will take more pictures too.
