My wife has a Citroen C5 Hdi 2.2, we bought it quite cheaply as a px from a dealer in C5's and all seems well, but I have a nagging fear. We paid an extra £200 for him to do the cambelt/water pump, but having just discovered the passenger wheel almost impossible to remove as the wheelnuts had been overtorqued (inc. major surgery to remove the locking one) I am not convinced the cambelt work was done, as I think this wheel should have come off to do this work.

Is there an easy way to check if the belt/pump is new ? it was only a few hindred miles ago, so would expect it all to look ok still.

Thanks

There is no reason to remove the n/s wheel but I always remove the o/s.The only way to be sure is for an experienced mechanic to "start" the job again. As he removes the timing covers I`m sure he will see evidence of the work being carried out.OR! he will confirm that nothing has been touched!!
