I'm in a bit of a dilemma over what to do with cars.

My original plan was to buy myself something in the £2,000 range - something fairly large (BMW 5 series) and a bit wafty. As the weeks have gone by I've come to realise I'm fed up of driving old cars which need regular trips to the garage to fix and that I fancy something much newer but nothing too extravagant so was accepting I needed to start thinking about few year old Fiesta's, etc.

And then I thought about Renault and the Clio 197's.. realised they're still quite pricey and higher to insure and fuel than I probably want. And then I thought about the Twingo 133. Don't see many around but think they're a great looking little car and I hope retain the practicality and affordability of a small hatchback but have a little extra zing for when you want a bit of fun! Insurance seems really decent too.. can get insured for about £360!

Just wondered if any one here owns one, how they've found them in terms of reliability, what kind of fuel economy they get and just general owner feedback / experience. I've seen anything from 35MPG up to high 40's from some people? How true is this?

Looking around you can get a 2 year old Twingo 133 with approx 21k on the clock for about £7,5000 which sounds about where I want to be money wise! I've read some positively gushing comments on some forums which is reassuring? Any more for any more?

I own a Clio 200, my brother a 133cup. I can comfortably say the twingo is more fun, brilliant little thing. Gets 37mpg. Don't go without the cup chassis though, it's a big improvement on the standard one.
