Ok, so I have lived with my 205 in its current state for about 2 years now, and though I still love it, I want more (as is always the case). So now I am stuck with the dilema of either building a new GTi-6 engine to the tune of circa 230bhp or fitting a 406 turbo motor and fettling to the same sort of power.

Now I am left with the choice of the two. The na will cost far more to do properly, as well as taking me much longer to build. Whereas the turbo engine will be less expensive and I will be able to fit much sooner. My problem though is that I have never owned or even driven a turbo car and being a racer (shameless boast tongue out ) I focus a huge amount on throttle responsiveness when setting my car up.

Everything is still in the planning stage at the moment so any thoughts greatly appreciated - as are free rides wink

I had a go in a 205 with the 406 turbo engine and it scared the st out of me. 220bhp it had - all in one go.

I quite like my NA set up at just 185bhp.

Not had them in such a light car, but my vectra had a tuned NA engine. I was heading upto about 180hp when I had a proper go in my OH's turbo'd vectra.

Although I love the sound from throttle bodies, I couldnt help but get addicted to the turbo shove! Its no 500bhp car, but with 280 pound foot and 240bhp all for less than I was spending on the NA engine, it got binned and a turbo engine now sits in there.

Next stage is within reach and should take me above her figures and all for way less than the NA setup cost!

See this is my problem too, I love na cars, have been in friends cars and just didn't really like the way the power was delivered (corsa C with z20let at about 240 bhp) I also want an engine to scream and rev high. But the way the figures are coming out for me at the moment it just seems like financial suicide to build a properly quick GTi-6 engined car instead of using the old turbo lump with very little work needed.
