Today I sold my 206, and I feel strangely sad about it. First car I've ever actually sold, and It seems like you can put in lots of effort to look after a car but in the end you'll have to get rid of it anyway.

It was only a GLX bought to run about while I fixed my 'cossie Merc' but it ended up being just as much fun a lot of the time so I kept it 4 years. I like the lightweight performance, the toys, and the front to rear balance that the chassis had. I didn't like the bouncy suspension and the skinny tyres. I doubt I"ll drive a newer car with such skinny tyres, it's not the done thing any more.

Overall, a nice car, better than the reviews that it was given by some reviewers. Yes it broke a bit, but it was always cheap to fix so it didn't really matter. Mostly when it broke it turned out to be something minor as opposed to something major. Compared to running a modern classic, most things were a bargain. It did 39MPG but still performed well being a 1.6, and more importantly it also showed me some joys of fwd - most of my previous proper cars were rwd - and I think there's more of than in my future.

A pic - not that you need to see one, it's just a 206 - but I think she deserves it for showing me you can be fun on the cheap!
