Clio 182 - Heater stuck on Hot, blowers on full

Hello,

The heater on my wifes 2004 clio 182 decided to not work on friday. Symptoms are:

Blowers is stuck on full. First thought this would be the resistor pack.

Blower is only putting out hot air. So does this sound like this? http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showt...&highli...

The climate control panel is working fine. You can change the blower to face, feet etc. But fan speed and temp does nothing.

So does this sound like the resistor pack or the heater matrix or both?

Not the heater matrix.

Fixed the hot and cold using the cable tie fix as shown in the cliosport thread. Just need to fix the blowers now

Could the damaged motor have caused the resistor to fail?

I doubt it,more likely a common failure.

had to replace the resistor pack on the wifes 172 last year, quite an easy job really, guides are on cliosport.net, the £100 renault want for the part is the bit that hurts. Common failure item apparently.

Yeah dad easy to remove. Removed it last night. Tried a couple of places for second hand bug no joy.

Going to send it off to be repaired.

Tried cliospares but no reply. Wanted a quick fix so sent mine of for repair for £40. Was going to try and fix it myself but like I said wanted a quick fix.

read this. sorted mine. all you need is a cable tie and a flexible body to get into the footwell!

its a 5p job that Renault quoted me £450 to fix.

That's for the hot and cold motor fix which I've already done and works a treat Resistor pack controls the blowers.

All sorted now.

Sent the resistor pack off to a seller on ebay to be repaired. Got it back 2 days later. All sorted now.
