Flushed with the success of my first model making for about 50 years (see the Christmas Group Build thread for my Revell 1/24 Land Rover Series 3 LWB Station Wagon), I'm emboldened to try another. smile

So, since I used to own this:

I've started this:

Once again I'll try and make it a sort of homage to my old car. Wish me luck. biggrin

Chassis, suspension, brakes and exhausts done. I'm not sure my suspension geometry is up to much, and my wheels might not all be pointing in the same direction. hehe At least the steering works. biggrin

Next up, stripping the horrible chrome off the wheels ...

Very black interior done, underbody protection added, wheels stripped of chrome and painted .... silver. silly

Teeny tiny decals were a problem. Many split, and many weren't even attempted to be applied. hehe

More painting of the wheels required.

The model is a little disappointing in that it has rear seats (probably based on a standard Carrera model), and the "carpet" that is supposed to cover them is missing. irked

Wheels and tyres done, interior "carpeted" (with metal GT3 badge applied) and obligatory body test fit. smile

I had previously maligned Tamiya; I found the "carpet" sitting inside the as-yet unwrapped body. loser

I reckon I've done enough on this one now.

Everything went together pretty well, but was fiddly in places. A number of the decals split, but then that could be because I bought this many years ago and they're a bit old.

Nice, I’ve never done one of the GS high-tech kits, it looks challenging!
I may wimp out and do the no high-tech, all plastic version. biggrin
