Discussion
hey guys
im hopeing that some of you can help me out
here goes
a few years ago ( +/-) 10 years ago Kyhosho produced a Rc surfer, which is now discontinued. Ive tried getting one of these on ebay but they are going for 700 dollars (no joke) and the condition is not always that great.
a few american companies have bought out the remaining models and tricked it out to the hills, trick motors , better components and so on, but with importing costs Im looking at around a 1000 dollars US. No thanks
I managed to track down one of the other versions and Ive taken it upon myself as a "PROJECT" to upgrade this model to a more or less similiar version of the kyhosho tricked out version.
please note guys that im planning on useing this at the sea so im bound to come into a few issues.... BUT thats why I love the world of RC, to learn.
So this is where you guys come into Play.
I need your advice, comments, suggestions on what I need to do and look out for when I attempt to upgrade this sufer. So im looking for advice about leaking problems I could face, motor upgrades, even down to what screws I should use. brushless motor has been suggested......
Or any other problems you recon I could face along the way. As you will see from the pictures ive attached everything is so basic, so if you need to ask me any questions on what materials they have used... please do so. Im based down in london so if you are aware of specialist stores in the world of boats or rc that could advice me as what to do please mention them. I often go down to hobby stores in camden and they are fantastic.
here go the specs
540 motor
540 water cooling coil
Ni-cd battery
7.2 volts 1500mah
thanks guys
Im really looking forward to hearing from you
I will attach more pictures as I upgrade this bad girl
wayne ..
