I'd always been quite taken with the idea of one but never done anything about it, always figured it was just too expensive and was put off by all the scary crash stories. When I first seen they little 20 quid ones I was like that looks fun! Seen them in Maplins the other week and my Dad said nah don't get one, go find out about them first, as he thought you could do much better.

Well I'm fairly glad I listened.... done a bit of research into decent beginner 4 channel copters (after seeing the cheap 3 channel ones aren't too exciting) and picked a Buzz Fly CX. I know it's a copy of another and possibly a little overpriced, but service from them seems excellent so I'm pleased.

It's sooooo much fun. Finding it hard to get the trims adjusted right, it will be a while before I know which was to move the controls once it rotates away. But can hover and move around enough I get the point.. (had about an hours practice). If this is how good it is to be bad at it though, I can't wait to see how good it is when I can control it properly biggrin

I found it quite difficult to start with but then one day, it just clicked and I was flying around without a care in the world. Queue expensive crash.

Guess that would be round about the same time you don't have to consciously think about what way you are moving the controls!

I can keep it hovering for a full battery pack ok but feel like I'm always fighting it rather than moving it where i really want. Can somtimes get the yaw dialed out via the trim and have it sitting with no input on the left stick. But then trying to get rid of the forward and left inherent movement is too difficult as I'm always correcting it!

Still guess that will come after im more capable at controlling it. But it's awesome to have it hovering in front of you and seeing the little corrections you are making move it biggrin

Nice little heli, good pictures as well smile

I have a walkera 4#3B which is the same as the Buzzfly SE. Very similar to your except it has a propper tail rotor and is a bit harder to fly.

Its taken me a long time to get the hang of it but im enjoying flying it now smile
I must have crashed mine 50+ times now and ive hardly broken any parts they are very tough.

If you are going to crash make sure you cut the throttle and you shouldnt do any major damage

I made a video of me flying, although I am slightly better now (if anybody is interested)

Got my first heli yesterday (birthday present) - a bladez 3d. It's a three channel jobbie and as yet all I've managed to do is scare the cat.

Should be good fun though, but no doubt will end up moving on to bigger and more expensive crashes in the future.
