hi, of recent i have fallen in love with Austin's MG Metro 6R4 and since i have my lambo models i would like a 6R4 to join them but on ebay i can only find 1:43 scale and a google search doesn't really help so does anyone know where you can pick up a 1:18th version or anything bigger then 1:43rd?

I'm not sure if there is a diecast in a larger scale than 1:43 of the 6R4.

The only alternative I can find from the usual sources is a kit made by Profil 24 in 1:24 scale, but that is rather pricey.

A very good buy, these had a RRP of £20 so your getting great value with this model smile

...and being an IXO model, the detailing and finish will be very good.

Dont expect that to be the best 6r4 model. As said the ixo versions are good but that is a partwork collection model so the detail is there but it hasnt been painted.

I have all of the Ixo & Skid versions, will post pics of them if you wish.

As said there is the profil24 kit, but there is no 1/18 version available. MRM international also made the 6r4 in 1/24 back in the late 90s but the profil kit is miles better.

I don't biggrin

The problem is that they will be a short run kit so they have to recoup the costs of the development over a smaller unit run than say a 1:43rd scale diecast of a Ford Escort.

The difference in price between the built and kit prices is actually quite reasonable to my mind from a commercial point of view. There's more than 4 hours work in there to create a nicely detailed example so £80 is probably about right. However, I have no experience of the quality of the factory built Profil kits so they coul dbe shocking for the money.
