Hi All,

Went to run my out-of-the-box fresh Schumacher Fusion this afternoon, but it's not working!! I'm new to this malarkey so I'll describe the problem as best as I can!!

Primed engine first off, put glow plug starter on, turned the engine over, and... nothing.

At the first go, fuel was being sucked to the Carb (when I primed) but it seems like no more is getting through (the tiny bubbles in the line from tank - carb don't move if I try and prime further.

I have taken the glow plug out, and used the starter - it's glows red - not bright red, but enough for me to see - could this be the issue?

The glow plug wasn't wet when I took it out, and neither could I see any dampness on the top of the cylinder - I suspect that fuel isn't getting through.

I have double checked all carb settings as in the manual, and set idle, throttle, high and low speed correctly (ever so slightly rich) as as stated in the manual.

Before I started all of this, I did double-check that all packaging was removed, and could see the inside of the carb clearly before the air filter was put on.

I'm at a loss now - I assume that when I'm priming, I should be able to see some fuel in the cylinder, or at least the glow plug would be wet.

Any help/opinons much appreciated - I've been dithering around for the best part of thress hours - ho bloody ho!!

Remove fuel pipe & air filter, attach a spare piece of fuel tube & blow through it. Open throttle & you should hear air hissing. If you don't then open needle valve ACW until you do. Red Glow is good, orange is not so you don't have problem there. Before replacing plug put a small dribble of fuel down it, 1/2 throttle, apply glow stick & it should go. It'll need a bit of running to get a reliable idle so short runs with varying revs for the first few tank fulls.

Would concur with both of the above.... I got a new Nitro for xmas, I packed in first time... too cold to get it going... tried heating it up and and it fired first time... also take a look here for some excellent advice.

Once you get it started, make sure you run it in...

Thanks for your help guys - took the glowplug out and de-flooded (it wasn't immediately apparent), heated the engine with a hairdryer, tried again and bang! Job's a good 'un!
