What have I got here? Tamiya...
Discussion
I bought a Tamiya Conqueror kit, kit no. 58115, about 17 years ago along with associated remote control equipment and batteries. Full of enthusiasm I built the chassis and componentry but never got around to painting and fitting the body. Consequently the kit remains as brand new, never even run, and sits in a box waiting for somebody to finish it off.
Is there a collectors market for the older kits like this or is it just ebay fodder? Perhaps one of the remote control cognoscenti could let me know.
Thanks

Quite possibly worth a good few quid mate, tamiya recently rereleased some of the vintage kits such was the demand. I'm sure someone who knows more about Tamiya's will be able to help more.

That gives you the info on the car - best thing for value is to check eBay or TC.
I give it 24 hours till our Roop pops up

Pabaa...! I am here Gafferoony, consider your face saved.
Terra Conqueror is one of the later generation TA based buggies. Generic TA parts plus the fact that body sets are freely available new in box for £18-£20 mean that they are not a particularly sought after model, but it's knocking on a bit so it's worth something. R/C gear and associated electronics likely worth peanuts as they have moved on in leaps and bounds since then and got a lot cheaper. The actual car holds the value.
I wouldn't mind it if you are considering selling it. I have mailed the resident TC expert to ascertain value.
PS: CLC - What happened to your Tamiyas...?

OK. Regards the Terra Conqueror, one of the big vintage Tamiya sellers on eBay (Jason's Store) had a one new-in-box for a few months up at US$150 but it didn't sell. Someone chipped him down and it went, but I don't know for how much less. After speaking to my TC guy, we reckon he probably let it go at US$120 - US$125.
In respect of this and the fact your car is not NIB, I'd reckon of the car alone (without r/c gear, battery etc) to be worth $75. If you let me know what the electrics are that are with it then I'll try and derive a value for you. Bear in mind what I said above - the r/c gear is generally worth less that what is costs to post it to the buyer. The battery will be knackered after these years and it's unlikely it will hold a charge / charge to anything like it's stated capacity.
PM me if you want to deal...!
