The world championships come to Milton Keynes with practise starting this Saturday 11th October with the racing commencing Monday through to the following Saturday. Over 100 of the worlds top racers will be competing for the honour of being crowned a world champion with racers coming from Europe and the USA plus our top Uk guys. The event is going to be featured on the Chris Evans BBC radio2 show Friday with a following piece on BBC telly next week, there are current plans to try and get James May racing in the team event, not sure if this for Top Gear.
Open to the public and the track pictured below is the old National track which is for the public to "have a go". If you're in the area pop in, I guarantee it will blow your mind such is the speed of these cars.
Info on location can be found at www.isra2008.com

I used to race slot cars at a track in Coulsdon, Surrey (Where I now live). Squishy foam tyres with sticky gloop on them, lexan bodywork of your favourite cars. They were made of brass if I recall. Does anyone know the Coulsdon track?

Coulsdon is still a thriving club and has a super new track. No more goop and steel has replaced brass. Get back down there!
