It's one of these...

Less than £20 and it can be flown indoors!

My first (albeit modest) foray into RC (well, IR) helicopters.

Can't wait for it to arrive! Anyone else into models?

They are indestructible unless you fly them into an open fire while drunk.

You'll possibly get bored with it fairly quickly as the two and three channel ones are a bit limited in what they can do. But if you like it you'll be wanting to get a four channel one minimum after wards and then you can really get into it! wink

Having had so much fun with my Picoo Z I'm quite tempted to get something a bit more serious.

Picoo is great though because it doesn't matter if you crash. Hmmm.

Am so glad I was sober when I clicked on this thread!-

How much indoors space do you need to realistically use one of these?

Not very much. The skill is stopping it crashing into the walls/ceiling.

I doubt you will be disappointed.

I got me one those but in the shape of an Apache.

Realised rather quickly that my lounge is what would be known as 'restricted airspace', so drunkenly (seems to be a reoccuring theme here) I took it out to a sandy bit of wasteland behind my apartment block to see if I could get to grips with it.

Sort of.

I seem to have a habit that if it starts to go a bit AWOL, I give it more beans and frantically try and get it to fly in the right direction.

This ended up with the bloody thing going out of my view, over my 5 story apartment block - I'm still giving it the beans on the throttle - I then got it back over the sandy bit, no idea how, let it come down and then went home and never used it again.

My last one lasted a few weeks till the cat decided to make sure it was dead once and for all. If we replace it one day we'll get a proper remote controlled 'copter for outside use smile

Thanks for that. I will get some practice first, but I'm pretty sure I will be looking into a more advanced version sometime.
