Just bought a rascal!
Discussion
After checking in other articles i decided that a)its a fad and i didnt wanna chuck to much money at it and b)i havent got a big enough place to run a 1:6 model. I bought a rascal and its taken ages to get sorted but just had a litle play and its brilliant. The carb settings were all fked but now it seems to be running cool. Fast little bd it is to. ill put some pic up later but thanks to all you guys i had a fun evening!
They are even more fun when you get a few running together.
It sounds light your high speed needle is too lean, is there blue smoke coming out of the exhaust all the time? There should be. I'm not sure what the original settings for the engine are but it should say in the manual, i'd reset them back to original and start tuning again. It's also worth checking that the exhaust is fitted correctly and isn't leaking.
The following video, although using a different car, shows how to tune an engine. It can be a fiddly excercise and settings that work one day might not work on another.
