The big gap seems to be the compressor, to get the hydrogen up to sufficient pressure to achieve a good energy density in the storage tank.

The energy density achieveable seems adequate, and the fuel cell process reversible, but there is a distinct lack of facilities for you to generate your own hydrogen.

Without that facility, the energy density/absolute quantity is just not good enough to be useful, especially when you compare it with something like propane.

With that thing, you'd be forever buying new cylinders.

I posted about this a few weeks back. Corgi are in partnership with them to produce one. The email I received form Corgi said it will go on sale in September and price is expected to be £199

It seems the way forward

its obviously enviromently friendly as well.

its a bit on the pricey side though, but im sure as the popularity gets bigger so the price will come down

It makes it's own hydrogen, you only put water in, in has a solar panel for the fuel cell. From the Corgi website:

The first model to be released under the H2Go brand is the HF Mach 3.0. This is the world’s first and only hydrogen fuelled radio controlled car that requires no disposable batteries, setting the pace for the next generation of toys. Powered only by water and sunlight, the compact kit is entirely environmentally friendly. It comprises a remote control car, a refueling station, a solar panel plus a remote control, and is set to fascinate and provide hours of entertainment for children and adults of all ages

Me too!

I don't think the expected price of £199 for the complete kit is at all pricey. I was paying £120 for Tamiya kits without radios etc 15 years ago!

Have a look at the U Tube video clip in the below link, Corgi are to sell two version's, one using a Solar Panel and one without, I'm presuming the one without used batteries of some desription to provide the power source to make the hydrogen gas from the water.
