Can anyone recommend a good online store for RC cars and spares. I've several that look pretty impressive but as you dig deeper their stock is very limited.

I've used rcmart.com modelsport.co.uk modelsinmotion.co.uk and www.dcracing.co.uk
All have been good and I chop and change depending who's cheapest and who's got stock.

www.modelsport.co.uk
www.apexmodels.com

I've used a few others but these two seem to be the top ones I always go back to. It helps that Apex offer price matching both online and in store, and they are just down the road from me smile

Both shops have staff who really know what they are talking about (I visited Modelsports store last time I was in yorkshire).

Alternativly I've also bought loads of parts from the USA via ebay. MUCH cheaper than the UK and everything I have bought has been official branded not cheap knock off.

I used to use Modelsport, spent about 600 quid with them in total over a couple of transactions, then we fell out big time over a pull start that didnt arrive 2 weeks after ordering it and they wouldnt refund me until it arrived, 3 weeks later and still no refund and they would not send me another one.. the attitude of them when i had a problem changed considerably and the service i recieved stank. I threatened trading standards and all of a sudden recieved a refund and still no pull start !
I told them at the time that i would never use them again and tell all my friends of my experience and the reaction ??? "whatever.." mad

Apexmodels were always may first choice. Not sure how good there online service is as I used to live fairly close. Always knew there stuff in the shop.

www.microtechracing.com is another one I used to use, and are quite good.

apex was always a favourite of mine, altho it can sometimes take a while to find spares on their site. Recently tho its been taking longer and longer to get parts, they dont seem to keep a good stock of spares (for losi xxx's anyway) so ive been using www.microtechracing.com, or www.losipartshouse.com (USA) if im ordering more than £20's worth. they only do losi and associated cars tho, but have a good selection of electrics, tyres, tools etc. postage is very reasonable and the site shows whats in stock so you know it will be sent out as soon as you order

I used them in the late 80's and early 90's when they were simply "Otley Modelsport". They did a good mail order service. Sadly, since they went online they seem to have chnaged into little more than boxshifters. As you have discovered, this is fine until something goes wrong...

I can highly recommend Fusion Hobbies. www.fusionhobbies.com

2nd, the guys and girls at fusion are very helpful, Had a couple of models of them now, Even when the last 1 was late, they called me to let me know. Can't fault them in the slightest.

Thanks for the heads up.

I have my eye on the new Xray T2 008 EU 6 cell chassis and will probably fit a Lotus Sport Elise shell - rather nice smile

I wouldnt fit an elise shell, maybe for the shelf but not for racing, it will handle like crap.

Only time will tell. I have one on order from the US as you can't get the original version with round headlights anymore frown

It'll look great on the T2 with some nice wheels on but definately not for racing, it wont show the handling characteristics of the car off properly and you will be forever trying to make it go properly when all it needs is a good mazda 6 or dodge stratus.
