Go look on eBay - I'm afriad that eBay has hit the collector market just as much as it's been hitting the retailers.

Far too many people on eBay selling collectible models without any idea of what they are worth.

I recently purchased an old Corgi Eddie Stobart Limited Edition model that when released was worth over £150. I missed it the first time around and years of going to toy fairs seeing it being listed at way over the retail price so I just waited my time.

Thankfully eBay came along and I purchased the said model (Mint Condition) a few months back for less than £50 inc postage. The guy probably didn't realise how much it was worth, but I was not going to tell him smile For the past couple of years I have been buying all my models for my personal collection from eBay, even when I was in the business as I could get them cheaper off ebay than my wholesaler could sell them for!!! Now that is crazy.

So you see... with the advent of eBay, collections that appear from relatives or friends lofts really are not worth that much any more. You certainly won't be retiring on your profits, if there are any to have.

Sorry to be a kill-joy but the facts speak for themseleves.
