I have been given 100 or so boxed die-cast model cars.
Are they worth anything these days?
Cheers.

depends on age, model etc, I used to sell them as a hobby/sideline. Some are worth good money, some just a few quid, all must be mint/boxed to worth top money.

They are all in original boxes and new.
Where would buy them, any idea?
Or is it a case of E Bay?

Watched an episode of Antiques Roadshow the other day where a chap had a large collection of pristine boxed Corgis dating back to the early 1960s.
They are all collectable but the most desirable cars and sets are:

Chipperfield Circus Set
The original 007 Aston Martin, preferably with ejectee still in place - most of them were lost through being pinged under sofas.
An early car transporter set
Gerry Anderson related models

e-mail me a pic or two of them and I will have a better idea of the value for you if that helps? E-bay is a way but toy fairs are where the collectors gather.

You probably won't get much from a dealer at a toy fair as they will want to give you considerably less than market value in order to get a profit. Value will depend on which ones they are, theolder ones are the more valuble. Your best bet is a Toy auction or Ebay. You used to be able to buy a price guide a few years ago, I'm not sure if you still can.

Do what i did to gauge values, and go on ebay - i had/still have some '60s and 70s corgis mostly in boxes.
Bought them 25 years ago at flea markets etc.
Some of the prices i realised on ebay were shocking . e.g little ford anglia ice cream van ,cost about £4 when i was 15 - im nearly 41 now though - sold on ebay £150 party.
The proceeds made a big difference to my ability to run my fleet of real cars this year hehe.

There are two (at least) specialist die-cast magazines available. I would buy them for a few months to get a feel for what passes for "normal" prices.
