Would this model be OK for a 6 year old?
Discussion
Hi,
I want to buy a electric r/c car for my son so I'm thinking of this...
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&am...
It needs to be a buggy-type and less than £100 for everything inc radio gear etc.
Anyone got any other suggestions?
Cheers.
Gary.

I would be concerned over the availability of spares should anything break (which it will).
Before you commit, check that wishbones, uprights and gears can be sourced.
You'll also need a fast charger, as the one supplied looks like it will take about 8 hours! Budget £20 - £30 for one (loads of used Ripmax chargers on ebay) or they appear to offer an upgrade but no price listed.

Yes spares and parts are a real issue. I own a nitro r/c car which was bought off ebay and because it is an unknown make, i have to buy through the original seller on ebay which is a real pain. Plus, he takes forever to post things. I would advise you to buy a tamiya buggy. You can get them off ebay cheap, they're great fun, it's easy to source spares (most model shops stock parts) and you can get alot of upgrades
I eventually bought this one... looks like it will do the job.
