Bit miffed really been looking to get my hands on a HPI Savage X. Wanted to build it myself. the kit form is also cheaper than the ready to run one. however once I have paid for the radio gear etc to go in the kit one its cheaper to have the ready to run one. which should I go for?

I would personally go for the kit form then you can buy your own radio equipment. This means that you can buy better servos with a higher torque output which i would advise as it will give you a more solid brake and better steering. I did this with my savage that i built and never looked back.

Kit form is always the way to go. You will learn how the car goes together and be able to fix it quicker in the future.

You could always try and pick up some second hand radio gear to save you a bit.

Sorry i cant remember what servos i had in mine it over a year since i sold it frown. But I also went for the reverse module aswell which to be honest i wish i never. From what i can remember i think they were middle opf the range futaba items with my deciding facvtor on torque rather than speed.

I hope this helps.
