I have a Kyosho Landmax 2 which I have had for a few years now. I haven't run it for about 18 months but decided at the week end to get it running again. The only problem I have is that while it will start as soon as I remove the glow starter the engine dies. Could it be that the glow plug is on its way out. I am using Duraglo 16 fuel.

Yes i would change the glow plug first and maybe get some new fuel too.

When changing the glow plug change for one with the same temperature rating. Assuming it ran ok before.

I would also check that the fuel lines are ok and maybe retune the carb.

If this doesnt work leave the glow plug on a little longer and maybe increase the revs slightly adjusting the carbs

Hope this helps

If you haven't replaced the fuel this will be causing the issue - I always gave any fuel a 5 month shelf life (luckily it normally lasted a lot less than that!!) Or as you say, the GP could be on the way out...

Check also as has been said that the fuel is not too rich, causing the GP to go out after the starter is removed.
