Hey all,
I'm thinking of reliving my childhood and fixing up my long-abandoned Tamiya car, on the (I think) TL-01 chassis, where is the best place to get spare parts online? Once I get it running I'll want to step up its performance, since it has the standard motor that came with it; Any recommendations for a good motor?
Also, what kind of radio gear should I be looking at? It's been a long time since I've even thought about it.

Finally, do Tamiya still make the F1 cars? I can't seem to find them anywhere. I had a brilliant McLaren MP4-6 (I think) when I was very young, and I'd love to get another, I remember it being verry fast

There are many online parts websites, these two are perhaps some of the bigger ones, both of which should to Tamiya parts. www.apexmodels.comwww.modelsport.co.uk

Assuming you have a mechanical speed control (servo operated) you will need to upgrade to an electronic speed controller (ESC) at the same time as upgrading the motor. As for the motor itself, i wouldn't go to far if your only used to the standard unit. Perhaps a 19t superstock, this will be quick without draining your battery too quickly.

You will get a decent control system with transmitter, receiver and a servo for about £45-£50.

Feel few to ask if you need more advice.

Another option would be to upgrade to a TT01 car, they are very cheap and most model shops will do a good deal on all the gear. I'm Tamiya mad (unfortunately, or rather "expensively&quotwink and use the TL01 for drifting, it's a bit too basic to really start making it go faster.
