EB4 Diff - Help Please

I have stripped two main gears on my EB4, the original plastic ones. So replaced with a steel main gear and a centre diff (no centre diff as standard). After putting everything back together the car will hardly move now, justs sits and revs for a few seconds before slowly pulling away and doesn't have half the speed it had before. I filled the diff with shock fluid as all I had, do you need to use special stuff/grease? Or is it something else that is wrong? Probably done something stupid here, but any help appreciated.

ETA, realised it's not going to work anyway as when using the diff you need a two brake setup and mine only has one, so back to replacing plastic gears.
