I'd be the last to knock the skill involved but it seems a bit wasted making a model of what is basically a big caravan.

Disagree. Big big area, carnival/fairground modeling with a lot of money changing hands.

It was built for a very good reason, the modeler knowing the owner of the real trailer. There's not one available to buy 'off the shelf' so only other option is to build one from scratch.

Fair play to the chap. Very impressive work. Wasted? Nah, just specialist.
