Any of you experts know if there are any large scale models of The TVR Griffith?
I know there are a couple of 1/43rd models but I was looking for something a bit bigger

Hello David thats a nice looking Griff you have there. I,m in the same boat as you seen the 1/43rd scale models and would really like something a bit bigger 1/18th or bigger would be nice , It always seems funny that everyone thinks the Griffith is such an iconic car but nobody does a decent sized model of one .I used to dabble a bit in plastic kits years ago and i,m building a R/C spitfire for a mate at present. And ideally someone bringing out a Griffith in either a kit or a diecast would be great so i could make a replica of my own car . Perhaps starting off a petition and lobbying a manufacturer like Jadi or a retailer such as Grand prix Legends might be a good move . type
Regards Paul.

I've been thinking this for a long time too.... I can't believe that a car that won a design award (and dare I say... the Chimaera !?!?) has never been picked up by the model companies.

If there's a mod reading this can we stick a Wikki in the TVR forums to collect names ?

I guess if no one asks, these companies won't make them ?

Only Chimaera model I know of is the aforemention SMTS in 1:43 - would like a more 'mainstream'option in 1:18 tho' (as per Jadi/Revell Tuscan S and Sagaris). A bit weird that the all-time most popular TVR model is only available as a low-volume production kit/model...

Forgotton I'd posted this. I've looked in many places and as everyone has said I can't understand why it never got the 1/18th attention of burago or someone like that.

Well im as confused as you as to why the Griffith and slightly uglier sister Chimeara boxedin dont get any attention from the manufacturers. Anyways i was looking on the grand prix legends website and stumbled across a LEIGHS DIECAST DIARY forum where you can log in etc a bit like pistonheads and a part of the forum is sectioned to request manufacturers to start producing what people want . Apparently the marketing people look at these forums on a regular basis . So ive started the Griffith request ball rolling all we need now is lots more peeps to log in and add their weight to the request . so get those fingers working type

Just stumbled across this thread again and was pleased to see more interest smile

Thought I'd post a link to the site Toma500 has mentioned:

http://www.leighsdiary.com/forum/YaBB.pl

and the thread itself..

What models would you like to be made? > What i would really like for christmas !

http://www.leighsdiary.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=11963...

If there's a chance that the people who make the models read these threads it's worth the effort. After all if we don't ask it'll probably never happen ?!?!

Do you really think they do? Come on. This is just more BS from the guys from Surrey!! Diecast manufacturers don't see the UK as a major market, so you'll have to wait along time before all the TVR models roll out frown

Well the info about the marketing people did come from GP Legends but it makes sense to me that they could gauge what the paying public wants by looking at the forums but it costs Nowt but alittle time so whats the harm . Oh and thanks to GJR for the posting the link computers are not a strong point of mine confused

One of the posters here said he can't find a decent Sagaris.....I have a 1:18 one made by Jadi in red, so they are about.
Goes nicely with a pair of 1:18 Tuscan S's by Revell & Jadi + a pair of 1:18 Speed 12's by HotWheels.
Be nice to get a 1:18 Wedge and a Chimera.
If you want a Wedge or Chimera made in pewter they are available, but can't remember who I got mine from other than the guy was at a show I went to.
