My other half is a keen modeller, my ceiling is testament to that (I have an Airbus fleet hanging from it!)

Anyway he has also done some boats and other stuff, and is quite 'possessive' about them, so much so that I don't dust them as I don't have a death wish.

So, he is looking at perspex display cases for them, he was going to make his own, until he realised just how much 'fun' that was going to be, and the last thing I want is having to make room for hot wires etc.

So is there anyone out there that makes their own cases, or knows someone that does? He is willing to pay a reasonable amount for them, the one he needs at the moment is for the QM2, the case will need to measure 36cm long, 13cm wide and 22cm tall.

So over to you guys, here's hoping that someone can help him out. (please)

Trumpeter do a range of display cases to suit models of all shapes and sizes.

Picture Pride Displays is a UK based cabinet company who specialise in display cabinets for models. I keep my 1/43 F1 collection in one of their cases. They are not cheap but excellent quality.

It may be worthwhile getting to a model/toy swap meet type event as often display case companies take pitches.

What about a less expensive and easy to build display cabinet. I have one of these for my model cars.

I couldn't agree more. These companies offering bespoke display cases for those of us who collect models cost a fortune compare to the very nice cabinets you can get from IKEA like the one above.

I have purchased several pieces from IKEA that fit in perfectly with all the other furniture in our house and best of all, the wife is happy for them to be in the room because they do not look out of place.

So if you are looking to display your models for all to see, take a visit to your local IKEA and you'll be surprised what is on offer to you all...
