Just wondering if anyone can help me get rid of some interference on my RC car, I run a Losi xxx-s and not raced it for a while, The last few times I raced it in the winter I was getting intermittent interference, I have been trying to sort this but unsuccessfully, luckily I have spares and have so far changed the Controller, Crystals (27mhz), Receiver, Motor, Speedo, and this has made no difference, the only thing outstanding is the Servo (KO Fet), could this be causing the interference? I didn't think a servo could!!

Any help much appreciated....

Thanks

Tom

not a very helpful answer, but ditch the 27mhz, it's bloody useless as everything and it's mother can transmit on it.

Either get a 40mhz set, or if you don't mind splashing a bit of cash get a spektrum synthesized set.

ETA yes a servo on it's way out can cause interference, without any doubt at all.

Thanks, I have a spare slow servo so will give that a try tonight!

I did have to wire in a new Fet resistor thingy, can these be connected the wrong way?

I keep meaning to go 40mhz but never find myself in a good enough mood to spend the money!

don't know to be honest, haven't ever fitted one! If it's soldered and you have a dry joint it could cause problems.

I know what you mean on the 40mhz side. I kept my eyes open on ebay and got a full kit for one of the boats for £20 in excellent condition - JR stuff to

I've had this with my HPI Savage and found a fresh set of crystals solved it.

Make sure the noise supression capacitors are correcly installed on your motor and haven't come unsoldered. If it hasn't got any on it, there's your problem. Chances are the brushes / comm have worn, you are getting a bit of arcing in the motor and the old 27MHz AM gear is going up poo creek because of it.

Any decent model shop can sell you a supression pack for peanuts. I'd go this route first.

Personally, I have switched to Futaba FASST 2.4GHz SS stuff now - no more faffing with radios, but then again, I never had problems with my 40MHz gear either. Set it up right and no problems...
