I have a couple of Tamiya models which the kids (9 & 6) both like driving round the garden/street.

Both have birthdays coming up and have expressed a desire for cars of their own - does anyone have any experience/recommendations?

I guess "off-road" capability (i.e. drives well on lawns etc) is a must and so is price - I dont want to spend a fortune as they may get bored after a while, but also recognise you get what you pay for in terms of quality/reliability etc.

Obviously a buggy would be the way to go.

If you have a budget in mind, that would help with the suggestions.

Try something like a Tamiya Blitzer Beatle, great fun to drive and pretty easy to build, looked good too. Just sold mine and wish I hadnt!

budget is an interesting one - they have both gone a bit quiet on the subject so may well wait until they are a bit keener!
