Custom made models
Discussion
The car I'm wanting is a Veranti Spyder Kit car. But obviously being as rare as about 50 units ever produced, and the fact its a kit car then there are no models available. I would also like to get one of the Quantum 2+2 that I used to own. Anyone help?
Cant you re-spray the model of the jalpha? At least theres something close to it.

Jonty99: I'm a modelmaker/modelcar industry consultant (some of the models I made can be seen here http://img159.imageshack.us/gal.php?g - they are scratch built, modifyed production models or built from kit-die cast).
Can eventually discuss about making the models you like to have, however some "advices"/considerations are following...if the 1/1 kit car is heavily based on a production car, and shares its floorpan ( thus mantaining the donor car wheelbase/main dimensions) and windscreen/windows, I'd ideally start from a
production model (if/when available) and ideally built it as a transkit, keeping/using as many parts as possible from it. Here in Italy, and in France/Spain, many "newsagent" model collections, and many cars, are available at a very reasonable cost.
In the end a "transkit" consisting of a resin bodywork and, when needed, some small parts and a vacuum-formed screen, could be enough to get the job done.
Sclayto2: if you are looking for something bigger than 1/43 please try to look via www for plastic 1/20-1/24 plastic kit (made in Japan), if I remember well 25-30 years ago some companies (not Tamiya) used to make models of non-Countach Lambos, the Jalpa could be one of them...another way to get a bigger model is to have a 1/43 scaled up via a digital system, but it wouldn't cost little money...

Thanks for the reply. The car is actually based on a MKII Toyota MR2, not sure if you can get a model of one of those as it is? Im sure someone must do one. The only thing left though is the windscreen, and wheelbase. Everything else is a total re-body. I'd like to attempt it myself, but I have no idea where to start.
How to get the proportions right?
What materials to use?
How to keep it symetrical?
Ive modified scale models before but its only ever been basic body adjustments, making a spyder from a coupe, or GT version of a car. Can you shed any light on the above for me please? Any techniques you use?
